The goal of this project is to encourage and help CAT members take climate action regularly throughout 2025 with monthly challenges.
Each month, we’ll focus on a specific climate action challenge from a tech worker’s perspective. We’ll also provide resources and host events to support the monthly action challenge. The events will be an opportunity to act together, spark ideas for further action, and support accountability. Find upcoming action events on our calendar.
This is a CAT community-led project. Members are invited to suggest actions and help host events – both online and in person. Just log in with your CAT Slack account to view the CAT Action Calendar project page in the CAT knowledge base and add your suggestions.
Log of actions
💪 April: Share your climate action projects & learnings
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. In April, CAT members were invited to share their climate action projects & learnings, and learn about different ways to advocate for climate through work and digital tech.
Within the Slack community, we asked CAT members to add their projects, actions, wins, and learning to a shared slide deck, which were then presented and discussed at a CAT Show & Tell event on April 24, 2025. We also encourage CAT members to share their projects and learnings outside of CAT.
💪 March: Digital Cleanup
The Digital Cleanup Day is an annual event to raise global awareness about the environmental impact of the digital industry. In March, CAT members were invited to share ideas on how to perform digital cleanup and perform different digital cleanup actions, such as deleting unused photos, unsubscribing from mailing lists, and more.
💪 February: High-tech and low-tech repair and mend
During Economic Blackout day on February 28, CAT members were invited to bring their repair or mend projects to a community Life Fixup Chat. The event was an opportunity to discuss how we can extend the life of our digital devices and buy less new stuff.
